Salvatore Ferragamo made history this week by becoming the first brand to exhibit in the prestigious Louvre in Paris. The unveiling of the label’s Resort 2013 collection was attended by more than 500 guests flown in from around the world, including several celebrities and socialites such as Hilary Swank and Leighton Meester.
The distinguished museum was adorned with a runway that reached nearly 400 feet, parading the luxurious collection’s modern blend of patchwork, leather, lace and fringes in tones of delicate neutral hues. Exceptionally eye-catching pieces included an over-sized nappa and snakeskin knit, a mini dress constructed out of nude crocodile and embroidered suede boots.
Afterwards (as though the affair wasn’t quite majestic enough already), guests were also invited to privately tour the Louvre’s “Saint Anne, Leonardo da Vinci’s Ultimate Masterpiece” exhibition, before an intimate VIP dinner below in the acclaimed Pyramid du Louvre.
