Lindsey Cimino, a.k.a. my best friend since high school, possesses such selflessness that she came to New York this week to help me move into my new apartment. In a feeble attempt to repay her for all of her lifting, carrying, and cleaning I made an appointment for her to get her eyebrows shaped. Lindsey is graced with thick, full eyebrows. Not exactly Frida Kahlo style, but at times a little unmanageable. She referenced Jennifer Connelly’s shape as her inspiration so I decided to do a little research to see if I could find out exactly who is behind Connelly’s enviable brows. A Google search delivers blog post after article after blog post gushing about the actress’ brows. Turns out there exists a beauty procedure to get brow transplants to look like Ms. Connelly’s. Dr. Antonio Armani, whose Alvi Armani clinics are located worldwide, says when he began doing hair transplants in 1999, he performed 10 to 15 brow transplants per year; lately, though, brow transplants have increased to 4 to 5 per month. To what do we owe this influx? Dr. Armani thinks it’s because thicker brows are more popular in Hollywood right now: Women tell him they’d prefer their brows to look like those on Brooke Shields or Jennifer Connelly.
Conclusion: Lindsey, thank your lucky stars you were blessed with covetable brows. Turns out a brow transplant procedure cost upwards of $5,000.
Post Style Script: despite my thorough research I was unable to find the genius behind Jennifer Connelly’s brows: does anyone know?
