Eva in Mimosa

In an uncanny, prescient fashion moment, Eva Mendes showed up to the launch party for her upcoming film The Spirit (releasing on December 25th) at London’s Old Sorting Office last night wearing a little frock in the EXACT shade of Mimosa that Pantone had named as their color of 2009 earlier that very day.

Representatives of Pantone said of their choice, “Mimosa, a warm engaging yellow, brings hope and optimism during a time of economic uncertainty and political change. Inspired by the Mimosa tree and the sparkle of the renowned cocktail, the 2009 color of the year represents the hopeful and radiant characteristics associated with the color yellow.”

Makes sense–on the eve of the launch party for her latest sure-to-be-hit movie, Eva does have every reason to feel “hopeful and radiant.”
