Overall Biggest Winners: Although their much-publicized contract disputes threaten to put a damper on "Modern Family," it still swept the night. The comedy walked away with four trophies, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Julie Bowen and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Eric Stonestreet. Showtime drama "Homeland" tied them, with four trophies as well, Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (Claire Danes), Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Damian Lewis) and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.

Most Meta Moment: When awards show director Glenn Weiss accepted the Outstanding Directing for a Variety, Music, or Comedy Special Award for the 65th Tony Awards during last night's show, the camera had [...]

Most Meta Moment: When awards show director Glenn Weiss accepted the Outstanding Directing for a Variety, Music, or Comedy Special Award for the 65th Tony Awards during last night's show, the camera had to capture him backstage -- as he was in the process of directing last night's telecast! The future is here, kids.

Best Use of a "Real Housewives" Catchphrase: OK, so it probably wasn't intentional, but when Claire Danes accepted her Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for "Homeland," she referenced costar Mandy Patinkin, followed by "Holla!" Any devoted viewers of "Real Housewives of New York City" know that in cast member Heather Thomson's opening clip, she states: "My success is built on making women look and feel their best. Holla!" Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but we'd like to think that Danes is at home watching Bravo marathons all weekend too.

Most Robbed Nominee: Although Lena Dunham's role in the opening sequence was appropriate (naked, eating cake), the "Girls" writer, director and star lost out in each category. Outstanding Lead Actress in [...]

Most Robbed Nominee: Although Lena Dunham's role in the opening sequence was appropriate (naked, eating cake), the "Girls" writer, director and star lost out in each category. Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series went to Julia Louis-Dreyfus for "Veep," while the directing and writing trophies went to the folks behind "Modern Family" and Louis C.K. for his work on "Louie."

Cutest Couple: The red carpet lit up when "Girls" producer Judd Apatow appeared with wife Leslie Mann, who told Ryan Seacrest about the preparations they undertake before a big awards show (let's just [...]

Cutest Couple: The red carpet lit up when "Girls" producer Judd Apatow appeared with wife Leslie Mann, who told Ryan Seacrest about the preparations they undertake before a big awards show (let's just say that they involve shaving Apatow's back).

Best Appearance From a Disgraced Awards Show Host: Ricky Gervais caused quite a stir last year at the Golden Globes, offending a plethora of celebrities and publicists. It was even rumored that he was banned from the stage. While presenting an award last night, the crowd received him well, and he stated that while the Emmys are way better than the Golden Globes, the upside of the Globes is that people can drink.

Most Random Presenters: When "Dawson's Creek" alum James Van Der Beek took the stage with Damon Wayans Jr., we were a little bit confused. They presented the Outstanding Host for a Reality Show award to [...]

Most Random Presenters: When "Dawson's Creek" alum James Van Der Beek took the stage with Damon Wayans Jr., we were a little bit confused. They presented the Outstanding Host for a Reality Show award to Tom Bergeron of "Dancing With the Stars," and while it was a bit "wait, why?" it also worked.

Most Dramatic Rise to A-List Host: Last night, Jimmy Kimmel's hosting routine wowed the crowd. While some of the winners were predictable, Kimmel kept things interesting. Who would have guessed that a [...]

Most Dramatic Rise to A-List Host: Last night, Jimmy Kimmel's hosting routine wowed the crowd. While some of the winners were predictable, Kimmel kept things interesting. Who would have guessed that a decade ago he was chugging beers on television with Adam Carolla on "The Man Show"?

Best Political Call-Out: When Julianne Moore accepted the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie award for Game Change, where she famously played controversial politician Sarah Palin, she [...]

Best Political Call-Out: When Julianne Moore accepted the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie award for Game Change, where she famously played controversial politician Sarah Palin, she stated, "I feel so validated because Sarah Palin gave me a big thumbs down!"

Biggest Absence: When the nominees were announced for Outstanding Supporting Actress, one notable guest was missing: the fabulous Dame Maggie Smith, who won the award for her role as Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham on "Downton Abbey." The character shot they used in her promo, however, was absolutely perfect, but we only wished she could have been there in person to charm us with her witty one-liners.

While many thought that last night’s Primetime Emmy Awards were somewhat predictable, with “Modern Family” officially being crowned the ultimate comedy — and celebrated newbie Lena Dunham being snubbed, the telecast was smooth and entertaining.

With host Jimmy Kimmel at the helm, viewers were treated to three hours of A-list presenters, awesome acceptance speeches and more. As a wrap-up, we’ve comprised a gallery of the most memorable moments of last night, from the most honored shows to the best couple on the red carpet.
