The highly anticipated auctioning off of Elizabeth Taylor’s private jewelry collection will finally take place tonight at Christie’s in New York. In a special Evening Sale, 80 jewelry pieces will go on sale — including diamond necklaces, one-of-a-kind gems and tiaras. Ms. Taylor’s rare collection covers a sparkling array from her most infamous items. Tomorrow, two Day Sale sessions will also release an additional 189 pieces from her coveted collection.
The auction will include jewels from designers like Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co., BVLGARI, and Cartier, among others.
Elizabeth Taylor certainly took the saying ‘diamonds are a girls best friend’ to a whole new level, considering she was barely seen not wearing dripping in diamonds on any given public outing.
