After Monday’s tragic earthquake in Abruzzo, the country’s most severe since 1980, many Italian designers have come out to show their support. Gucci and Anna Molinari are among designers donating funds, while Versace says it’s coming up with an “organic way” to assist victims. Valentino and Giancarlo Giammetti have said they are in “terrible anguish.” Brioni, located only 62 miles from the earthquake’s epicenter, was liteally touched by the earthquake, experiencing tremors but no damage. Andre Perrone, Brioni’s co-CEO, says “We will provide extra support following this tragedy…We are part of the Abruzzo [region] and are directly involved and shocked in what has happened, it will take time to reestablish ordinary life.”
