It was reported today that Diane von Furstenberg has been named as the mentor to Alexander Wang, who won the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund back in November. As a prize, he was awarded $200,000 to use towards building his business and a years worth of coaching and mentoring from a yet-to-be-assigned industry vet. I’m super psyched for Wang–I can’t really think of a better mentor than DVF, who has managed to create a fashion empire, all starting from the strength of a good wrap dress.
Now, is it bad that all I can think is: Does this mean that I get to see Alex gallivanting with Whitney and Olivia on The City???!!!!
