With what seems like a kazillion black-tie events and cocktail-attire-required parties coming up in the next few weeks, I’ve been scouring party pictures to get some seriously-needed style inspiration. In my afternoon perusal, I came across this little photo of model Hana Soukupova in Dolce & Gabbana at the film premiere for Filth and Wisdom. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love me some sheerness/shortness, but doesn’t this dress seem a tad….Frederick’s of Hollywood?
I was in Screaming Mimi’s last week searching for a Halloween costume and I swear I saw a vintage (i.e. circa early-80s) Frederick’s bustier that looked pretty much exactly like the top of said frock. Hmmm. I have to admit, Soukupova’s pulling it off splendidly, but it just seems a bit over the top.
What are your thoughts? How sheer is too sheer? Is this something you would step out of the house in?
