The Cool Kids Play on the Blue Comet Stage at All Points West

I love when things are named as literally as possible. Like in the grocery store when generic, store brand soda is called, “Red Soda” (like… Red is not a flavor but that is JUST what it is. Red. Soda.

Meanwhile, I have a point to all this. The Cool Kids have the most suiting name for a band that has quietly and gradually been accumulating notoriety and popularity in the underground Chicago music scene. The Cool Kids are exactly what their name explicitly states: really cool.

Alternative hip hop/electronic duo, The Cool Kids have ties to M.I.A. and Q-Tip and received critical attention after their, “Black Mags” single dropped. The Cool Kids have recently released their second mixtape, “Gone Fishing” and are now on a summer tour—right after they get back for a show in Tokyo. (Just a hop, skip, and a jump away from All Points West…)
