When Chrissy Teigen announced her pregnancy last week via an adorable Instagram photo, the Internet basically broke. Blame it on the fact that so many people feel like they know the famously candid model, who’s been completely honest about her and hubby John Legend‘s struggle to conceive, but it’s safe to say the public’s response to the news was overwhelmingly positive.
But—because the Web is basically a free space for angry people to anonymously say whatever the hell they want—it was only a matter of time before all that goodwill vanished.
Yesterday, the 29-year-old took to Instagram again to post a new pic of her growing baby bump, with the caption: “Somebody is early to the party.” As expected, the trolls immediately went in for the kill, bombarding her feed with commentary about the size of her stomach.
One particularly intrusive comments came from a user named @hellotica_420 who tweeted, “damn you got big fast! My bestie is due in Feb and she’s 1/2 your size. Not twins? Probably triplets!”
Chrissy being Chrissy, she immediately replied with a series of tweets, such as: “I did IVF. One at a time. It isn’t twins. I can see the damn thing. Get out of my uterus!”
In a case of one person ruining it for everyone, Chrissy declared: “No more preg tweeting for me, lesson learned!! Back to food and reality TV and hay things.” So that’s the end of that.
