Being embarrassed by your dad is almost a rite of passage as a kid. Many of us have dozens of traumatic times where our father or father figure has, either intentionally or unintentionally, made our lives a social-suicide hell. It might’ve happened when you were a kid or when you were a teenager or even well into your adult years, but being embarrassed by your dad is something that lives on with you forever.

And because Hollywood dads are no different than the non-famous fathers who raised us, celebrity fathers are also known to pull pranks on their kids. Whether they’re embarrassing them on the red carpet or trolling them on social media in front of millions of followers, these celebrity dads have no shame when it comes to annoying their babies. See the most hilarious times ahead.

When David Beckham Roasted Brooklyn for Bragging About His Instagram Followers

When it comes to embarrassing his kids, David Beckham has no shame. In an interview on the “The Graham Norton Show,” David was seen embarrassing his then-16-year-old son, Brooklyn, several times. From letting Brooklyn’s Instagram followers know that he steals his dad’s sweater’s (“That’s my jumper,” David commented on a picture of Brooklyn in a Ralph Lauren hoodie) to pointing out how Brooklyn doesn’t think he’s a “cool dad,” the soccer star doesn’t give his teenage son a break.

But the funniest joke David played on Brooklyn was when he saw him recording an Instagram video celebrating his million Instagram followers. Of course, David had to rub in that his teenage son only had a fraction of what he had.

“I just reached a million followers,” Brooklyn says.

“I’ve got 52,” David pops in.

When Lionel Richie Used Too Many Exclamation Points to Text Sofia and Nicole

The only people siblings love to tease more than each other are their parents. Because Sofia and Nicole Richie didn’t understand why their dad, Lionel Richie, uses seven exclamation points and all caps in his texts, they sat him down for an intervention on his texting habits. On an episode of “Candidly Nicole, the Richie sisters instructed him that, at most, two exclamation points are fine if he wants to convey yelling. (“Five is like, ‘I’m screaming at you!’” Sofia said.) They also told him to stop using all caps, especially when he’s asking them mundane questions. “I’ve gotten like, ‘HOW’S YOUR DAY!’” Sofia said.

When Will Smith Spoofed Jaden’s Music Video

From kissing his cheek on red carpets to trolling him in Instagram comments, Will Smith will never let Jaden escape his embarrassment. But perhaps the best move that the father of two played on his son was when he re-created the music video for Jaden’s 2017 music video “Icon.” The music video features Jaden acting cool, rapping, and whipping his chain in front of an expensive car. In his spoof, Will re-creates Jaden’s dance moves and mannerisms to a tee, making it known who is the real boss in the Smith family.

Here’s how the story went: In 2015, while performing in Stockholm, Lenny Kravitz’s leather pants busted wide open, giving the audience a clear and explicit view of his penis. The situation led Lenny to text his friend and fellow musician Steven Tyler, who was impressed by Lenny’s pierced penis and decision to go commando. “You never showed me that shit,” Tyler texted Lenny. Eventually, Lenny’s daughter Zoë caught wind of the exchange and texted Tyler’s daughter, Chelsea. Embarrassed that their dads were openly tweeting about their penises, the women dubbed the conversation “#penisgate.”

When Barack Obama Made the Audience Sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Malia During His Speech

Just because you’re a first daughter doesn’t mean that you’re immune to embarrassing dads. In 2016, while giving his Fourth of July remarks at the White house, Obama paused his speech to ask the entire audience to sing “Happy Birthday” to his eldest daughter, Malia, who was turning 18. Malia, who was watching from the sidelines, eventually goes up on the stage reluctantly to hug her father. It was a dad moment but in the best way possible.

When Ryan Reynolds Called His Daughter James’s Drawing ‘Garbage’

Ryan Reynolds’s 3-year-old daughter James might not know how to use Twitter (or even what it is) yet, but that hasn’t stopped her dad from tweeting nonstop jokes about her. One of Reynolds’s most viral tweets is when he talked about a drawing that James drew for him at 6 months old, which he called “garbage.” The actor is also known to poke fun at his daughter’s tendency to yawn in his mouth.

When Prince Charles Couldn’t Stop Laughing at Prince Williams’s Theater Snafu

They might be royal, but Prince William and Harry still have an embarrassing dad. In an interview with Event, the princes ranted about how embarrassing their dad, Prince Charles, is. From his tendency to ramble to his terrible penmanship, the brothers make their dad look like a regular Joe—with, you know, a palace and a royal title. But perhaps the funniest story was when Prince William recalled his dad and his grandfather, Prince Philip, cracking at a school play of his. During the play, the lights and effects started go haywire, which is when William looked out into the audience and saw his dad LOL-ing.

When Mark Wahlberg Freestyle-Rapped in Front of His 13-Year-Old Daughter

Though it might seem cool to have Mark Wahlberg as your dad, for the actor’s actual 13-year-old daughter, Ella Rae, it’s super embarrassing. One cringe-worthy moment came in an interview on “The Dan Patrick Show” when Ella was given the mic to talk. That prompted Wahlberg to freestyle a rap about his parenting skills. “I’m your 45-year-old father and I got to rap / And if you keep misbehaving I’m a give your behind a slap,” Wahlberg rapped, while his daughter watched in horror. “It’s called a spanking / Later on in life you’re gonna thank me / ‘Cause all the advice that I’m giving you is good for you / And if not, your butt and behind is gonna be black and blue.”
