KATSUYA: You're sure to spot more than a few boldfaced names at this sleek Japanese eatery. But there's a reason why this hot spot has remained a celeb mainstay -- the food and cocktails are downright delicious. Don't leave without trying their signature dishes: Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño and Miso-Marinated Black Cod.

LIBRARY BAR AT THE HOLLYWOOD ROOSEVELT HOTEL: Of the five bars located at the Roosevelt, Library Bar is the most unique. Drinks are served Omakase-style. Translation: there's no drink menu, so you tell the bartender what flavors you're in the mood for, and they'll make it for you using ingredients that they get daily from a farmer's market. (Bonus tip: should you have the hankering for a post-drinks hamburger, stop off at 25 Degrees -- also in the Roosevelt -- for the best burgers and fries in town.)

CINESPIA AT HOLLYWOOD FOREVER CEMETERY: Enjoy a warm summer evening in true Hollywood fashion -- watching a movie at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. On Saturdays from May through September, Angelinos hang out at this legendary resting place to watch cult classics and mid-century flicks projected onto a huge mausoleum. So grab a blanket, a picnic basket and a bottle of wine, and join in on the fun. Other cities let you watch movies under the stars, but only on Hollywood can you watch movies on top of the stars.

FRED SEGAL MELROSE: Fred Segal isn't just a clothing store -- it's a shopping experience. There are mini-boutiques for pretty much anything your little fashionista heart desires, including Alice + Olivia, Topshop, Elizabeth and James and Christian Louboutin. But don't just take our word for it -- everyone from Rihanna to the Kardashians to Lauren Conrad shop here. And should you get hungry mid-shopping spree, stop off at Mauros Cafe for a little nosh.

AMERICAN RAG CIE: For a shopping smorgasbord, stop by American Rag. Here, you'll find vintage gems, amazing shoes and more. Their denim bar puts any department store's selection to shame. And did we [...]

And did we mention that some of the dressing rooms have "rear-view" cameras so you can check your booty out in your new jeans? Brilliant.

PINK'S: This family-owned hot dog stand has been around since 1939. Try a Martha Stewart Dog with mustard, relish, onions, chopped tomatoes, sauerkraut, bacon, and sour cream, or Mulholland Drive Dog, a 10-inch stretch hot dog with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, nacho cheese and bacon. (They also have veggie dogs and hamburgers.) But be ready to wait for a taste, as the line usually extends far down the block.

AMOEBA MUSIC: If iTunes were brick and mortar store, it would be Amoeba. This music emporium has more than 100,000 titles -- new, used, CD and vinyl. No wonder they have an in-store map to guide you around their aisles upon aisles of pop, rock, hip-hop, electronica, jazz, world and experimental music. (They don't call themselves the world's largest independent record store for nothing.) And even if you're not in the market to buy anything, Amoeba is worth a trip to people watch or catch a live performance. (Lana Del Rey played there earlier this year.)

MELROSE NIGHT: So many food trucks, so little time. That's what makes Melrose Night so ingenious. On the first Thursday of every month from 6-10PM, trucks from all over the area line up on Melrose Ave. between Ogden and Stanley for food and fun. Past food truck participants include Cool Haus ice cream sandwiches, Border Grill tacos, Nom Nom Vietnamese sandwiches, Sweet E's desserts and more. Even better is that shops on the block stay open late and offer promotions. Seriously -- food and shopping? Count us in. (Grind Haus truck pictured.)
