On Saturdays from May through September, Angelinos hang out at this legendary resting place to watch cult classics and mid-century flicks projected onto a huge mausoleum. Try a Martha Stewart Dog with mustard, relish, onions, chopped tomatoes, sauerkraut, bacon, and sour cream, or Mulholland Drive Dog, a 10-inch stretch hot dog with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, nacho cheese and bacon. (They also have veggie dogs and hamburgers.) But be ready to wait for a taste, as the line usually extends far down the block.

No wonder they have an in-store map to guide you around their aisles upon aisles of pop, rock, hip-hop, electronica, jazz, world and experimental music. (They don't call themselves the world's largest independent record store for nothing.) And even if you're not in the market to buy anything, Amoeba is worth a trip to people watch or catch a live performance. (Lana Del Rey played there earlier this year.)

On the first Thursday of every month from 6-10PM, trucks from all over the area line up on Melrose Ave. between Ogden and Stanley for food and fun. Past food truck participants include Cool Haus ice cream sandwiches, Border Grill tacos, Nom Nom Vietnamese sandwiches, Sweet E's desserts and more.
