Tuesday night was the night of 1,000 parties, but none, was, ahem, bolder, than the launch of everyone’s favorite addiction besides Lulu Frost initial necklaces, the Blackberry Bold. I gave up my Blackberry back in the day when I was drawn to the glamour of Apple’s dream machine, but quickly grew tired of the annoying touch screen and lack of BBM (Blackberry Messenger for the unfortunate few who aren’t on my contact list) and reverted to Curve. It was with a sick fascination, then, that I followed the impending arrival of Crackberry’s newest incarnation.
Unfortunately, I never made it to the party, having gotten blitzed somewhere between Bilbouquet and J. Mendel, but I did have the distinct pleasure of seeing all my friends toting around their initialized gadgets like the newest Hermes accesoire throughout Rose Bar later that eve (they laser cut the leather backs at the party!).
Guests at the private apartment (where designer Catherine Fulmer threw her fashion week presentation) included uber-models turned designers Agyness Deyn and Erin Wasson, fellow StyleCaster Annie Churchill, and Dabney Dazzla Mercer (and yes, the nickname was coined that night). Sadly, my Blackberry is still a Curve, but I know the first couple of hundred dollars I make that I don’t earmark for Dior Homme or, umm, rent, will definitely be put aside for the Bold. Oh, and I’ll ask my local AT&T if they’ll initialize it too.
