The one show I look forward to every season is Betsey Johnson. It’s a guaranteed good time and the energy is incomparable to any other major runway show. This season, Betsey took a recession chic stand and opted to show her “Betsey Crocker” collection in her showroom in the Garment District. Despite the much smaller location, the fashion crowd turned out to support, dance, eat cheeseburgers served on a silver platter (served by Liam McMullan himself) and sip baby Prosecco bottles with a straw. I loved the Courtney Love-like-model in the “Ice Princess Pie” dress above that included pink and white petticoats, a corset and cropped sweater.
I won’t miss the table service on the runway but I will miss Betsey’s signature end-of-show cartwheels.
