The Fashion Week runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris may feature their share of out-there looks, but they’re also a prime breeding ground for new beauty trends that are still months away from hitting the mainstream (remember Alexander Wang‘s 2010 blink-and-they’re-everywhere side braids? yeah).

At the recent Fall/Winter 2013-2014 shows, which are wrapping up in Paris this week, we’ve been noticing eye shadow migrating into a spot we haven’t touched with a makeup brush in years: the browbone. The inky, smoky eye at Donna Karan went right up to models’ full brows for a look that was almost ’80s bold, while versions at Mila Schon, Gianfranco Ferre and John Galliano were equally dramatic and moody.

But it’s the more subtle take on the look that has us intrigued — and wondering whether our eye shadow will be reaching new heights come fall. The pretty pink at Blumarine, the tawny neutral at DSquared2 and the soft white highlights at Zac Posen all struck us as downright wearable.

What do you think? Is this a look you’d add to your makeup rotation anytime soon?
