We can’t lie: Whitney Port is one of our ultimate cool-girl crushes. Fabulous style, gorgeous fiance, savvy businesswoman…oh yeah, and her hair? It’s basically our dream.
So it makes perfect sense that she teamed up with hair superstar Mark Hill for his Master Styling Class in New York City. We talked exclusively to Whitney about all things hair (including how she gets that stunning mane of hers), and she spilled some secrets about her upcoming wedding!
In person, Whitney is exactly the way you’d imagine: sweet and friendly, with the shiniest hair we have ever seen. So of course, we had to ask her about how she cares for her lovely locks—and it turns out that she takes the low maintenance route. “Honestly, I just use shampoo, conditioner, a leave-in conditioner and then let it air-dry,” she told us, adding that she loves Mark Hill’s Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner ($9.99 each). “I try to keep it as natural as possible.”
Whitney is no stranger to changing up her look, having gone from nearly waist-length hair to a chic long bob last Spring—but there are still a few hair risks that she’s dreaming of taking. “I don’t know, I might go platinum!” she told us. “Or maybe that peachy-pinky rose-gold color, I may do that next!”
And of course, we had to ask her all about her upcoming wedding to producer Tim Rosenman. “When it comes to bridal hairstyles, I like either really easy, effortless, wavy, worn down styles, or something really, really sleek,” Port said said. “I’m not really one to do the classic low-updo.”
The key for selecting bridal hair, says Whitney, is finding a style that works for you and your wedding. “You want to feel comfortable so that you can have fun and not worry about it!”
And as for bridesmaids? She’s not having any. “I don’t want to have to tell them what to do with their hairstyles!” she said, adding that she she doesn’t think it’s necessary for one’s wedding party to all match—especially when it comes to their hair. “I think bridesmaids should be able to wear whatever they want at the end of the day.”
