Beauty Aides Around The House

Who said all of your beauty products had to be kept inside your makeup bag? Take one look around your home and you’ll be surprised to find that some handy household items are not only totally safe to use as beauty products, but they work great too! (400x300)

It’s one of the oldest tricks in the books, but it works like a charm! To help get rid of pimples just rub a dab of toothpaste (a non-gel formula) over the problem area before you go to bed to reduce swelling and dry it up.

Dryer sheets
Flyaway hairs are a pesky problem that can be nearly impossible to keep down without a styling aid. But the next time you run out of hairspray or pomade, just smooth down hair with a dryer sheet and voila! The static will disappear and you’ll be left with nothing but smooth, sleek locks.

Run out of shaving cream when you’re already in the shower? Don’t worry, just use your hair conditioner instead, it’ll moisturize your skin and leave your legs smelling oh so clean.

Cooking spray
Nothing’s worse than messing up freshly painted nails, but if you don’t have time to let them properly dry (or if you’re impatient, like me) look to your kitchen for a quick-fix. Just spritz a light mist of cooking spray over them to help speed up drying time. Just make sure it’s unscented so your hands don’t wind up smelling like garlic!

Clear nail polish
To keep the thread from coming loose on your favorite button-downs and coats, just swipe clear nail polish over the button. You won’t see the polish once it dries and it’ll help keep the thread from unraveling.
