Lauryn Evarts is a blogger, an author, and an all-round social media ninja with an impressive 145,000 followers on Instagram. She’s also incredibly fit, and takes the kind of diligent, motivated approach to health and fitness that would make any casual gym-goer feel pangs of guilt.
She blogs at The Skinny Confidential, recently released her book, The Skinny Confidential: A Babe’s Sexy, Sassy Health and Lifestyle Guide, and this August Evarts will be sharing her digital and branding skills at Chicago-based event for entrepreneurial women kicking goals in business, Create & Cultivate. “It brings a bunch of talented influencers in one space to connect, and I’ve always been a fan of collaborating, not competing,” Evarts said about the event.
We caught up with Evarts to chat about her food and fitness diary, summer get-in-shape tips, and to nab her favorite detox drink recipe.
For breakfast I had… Iced coffee and chia seed pudding. It’s so easy: The night before just mix unsweetened coconut milk, chia seeds, chopped apples, walnuts, and cinnamon.
For lunch I had… Kale, goat cheese, grape, extra avocado, pine nut, and lemon vinaigrette salad.
For dinner I had… Sashimi with lentils.
Today I snacked on… Almond butter, green juice, grapefruit juice, coffee, dark chocolate, and a couple of champagne gummy bears.
My go-to healthy drink is… The Skinny Confidential Detox Drink: 1/2 grapefruit, water, apple cider vinegar, cayenne, turmeric powder, and mint. I’m obsessed.
The one thing I would never eat is… Fake juice. I hate the thick fillers in fake orange juices and pineapple juice. Yuck.

My guilty pleasure food is… Flaming Hot Cheetos, In n’ Out protein style, and Champagne.
My favorite healthy snack is… A smoothie! My favorite right now is a mix of raw almond butter, cashew milk, 1/2 banana, and cacao nibs. It’s like ice cream in a blender.

The three ingredients you’ll always find in my kitchen are… Lemon, chia seeds, and dried lentils.
My biggest health tip for travelers is to… Modify the food that’s available to you. For instance, ask for no tortilla on a grilled fish burrito or wrap your burger in lettuce, or skip mixers in cocktails and add a wedge of grapefruit and Perrier.
My signature healthy dish is… Sweet potato, quinoa, and turmeric patties. I like to add them to a Champagne vinaigrette salad.
The health app I couldn’t live without is… I use MyFitnessPal when I’m trying to stay on track for a bikini shoot.
The best part of my job is… I get to work from home, connect with my amazing readers, and do what I love.
I start an average day by… Checking emails and drinking The Skinny Confidential Detox Drink. I also like to make the bed, it gets you started on the right foot.
My best summer health tip is to… Drink watermelon juice! I juice it with mint and lime, and it’s so delicious. Watermelon is basically all water so it’s super hydrating and it’s a diuretic, which can help with bloating before you have to wear a bikini. Plus it’s full of vitamins and minerals. Also, it tastes delicious with tequila. Just saying.
