Instant Makeover: A Dab of This Oil Removes Static Hair

Perfectly Pure Coconut Oil

Occasionally we come across a product that bestows an immediate glow, changing our look (for the better!) in an instant. Since we’d be remiss to keep them to ourselves, we highlight these genius finds in our Instant Makeover series.

It’s official—static hair season is here. Earlier this week, I resorted to braiding my hair because straightening or curling it just wasn’t worth it. Bride of Frankenstein static height? Not exactly cute. Just in the nick of time, Perfectly Pure Coconut Oil ($12, arrived on my desk, putting any static woes to rest.

Unlike argan oils that can be a little intimidating (apply just a tad too much and your hair will be a greasy mess), this coconut oil has a paste-like texture so you have more control. Simply apply a dab of product on your fingertips, rub them together to heat it up, and run the oil along any static or frizzy strands.

Don’t worry—you won’t end up smelling like a pina colada. This oil is fragrance-free, so it won’t compete with the scent of your shampoo or perfume.

Got leftover product on your fingers? The oil also doubles as an a moisturizer for dry skin, so rub it into the back of your hand.
