With the end of one year, becomes the beginning of another, and while we want to leave off on a good note, we want to start on an even better one. This being said, in 2014 we’ve learned a lot about beauty, and what better time to showcase what we’ve been practicing all year long than on New Year’s Eve?
December 31st is the night to put our style to the test, and set the bar for the new chapter that lies ahead. For a celebration where nothing can be too over the top, our makeup has high standards to live up to. We searched high and low for some New Year’s Eve makeup inspiration, and got even more than we bargained for. Take a look for yourself, but be warned: they’re all so good that your New Year’s resolution will be to recreate each and every one.
For a classic New Year’s Eve makeup look, some sparkly silver shadow is a must. If you’re going full on glitter, use this picture as a guide – and a reminder to let your eyes be the focus, and keep the rest of your makeup simple.
No matter what the occasion, you can never go wrong with a subtle smokey eye and nude lips. To really pull the look together, apply a flawless foundation and be sure to fill in your brows.
Ring in the New Year at midnight rocking a metallic lip. We’re especially loving this deep berry shade paired with soft brown shadows to give the eyes some dimension.
For an intensified shine, use a roll on glitter shadow, loose pigment, or dampen your makeup brush before picking up some powder eyeshadow. Apply it all over your lid and underneath your lower lash line to really make your eyes pop.
To recreate this glowy look, grab a cream eyeshadow and an orange-based red lipstick. Line your eyes creating a soft cat eye, and load on coats of mascara for some full-on glam.
For a dramatic style, try out the winged eyeshadow look. Apply a deep, shimmery purple shadow on your lid and a black shadow on the outer corner, extending it to the same length as the tail of your eyebrow. For a seamless look, be sure to blend the shadows together so there are no harsh lines.
If you want to play it safe, while still being stylish, opt for this traditional glam look. Winged liner and a red lip is a go-to that’s both simple and stunning.
