Although most of my friends in New York don’t agree, I believe there is something magical about country music. It never puts women down, nor does it glorify violence like other genres. And although beer is glorified, that’s okay with me. There is something about a country ballad that inspires me to take a chance or be a better person.

Kellie Pickler is definitely an example of an artist who creates that atmosphere for her fans with liberating songs like “Best Days Of Your Life” and “Red High Heels.” We were lucky enough to get a few words with the singer as she promotes her new album and partnership with Tone Fruit Peel Body Wash.

Her Summer Beauty Must-Haves
“Tone Fruit Peel body wash keeps my skin smooth and soft during the summer months and is perfect for keeping my skin fresh. It also smells delicious! Also, finding a sunscreen that works for you is essential. I always looks for ones that have at least 30 SPF to protect my skin. Make-up wise, I love Bare Minerals because it is so light, and I’m a big fan of drugstore mascara, like Cover Girl Lash Blast.”

Favorite Red Carpet Look
“My absolute favorite is the Zuhair Murad gold mermaid dress I wore to my first Academy of Country Music Awards in 2009. But, it really depends which red carpet I’m getting ready for and the type of awards show. My main thing when getting ready is selecting a dress that I feel comfortable in. I also love the designer Pamella Roland. The dress I wore at the CMA Awards this past year gave off an “Old Hollywood” vibe that I really loved.”

What I Should Expect On My First Trip To Nashville In The Fall
“Definitely bring comfortable shoes (cowboy boots are a plus!), a smile, and an appetite. While in Nashville, I’d make sure to visit Broadway, the street with all of the famous Honky Tonks and the Ryman Auditorium. There is so much history there… it’s where some of the greatest country stars were discovered. Lastly, I’d recommend Loveless CafĂ©–they have the best biscuits.”

Inspiration For Her Upcoming Album 100 Proof
“Mostly, my life. I co-wrote six of the 11 songs on my new album, 100 Proof, including one with my husband. The whole project really hits on my love for classic country….we have all the traditional instruments like a pedal steel guitar and fiddle. It’s been my favorite album to record so far.”

Connecting With Fans
“I am so excited to be partnering with Tone Fruit Peel Body Wash this year. I love the way the product makes my skin feel and smell. When I first used it, my husband commented on how amazing my skin smelled. And through the Turn it Up! with Tone partnership, I’m also able to connect with my fans more. Fans can visit the Tone Skin Care <a href="Facebook page for a chance to win a trip to Nashville and spend time with me backstage at one of my shows.”
