It’s Cool To Be A Kid Again

It seems everywhere we look, our childhood favorites are being resurrected. They’re not coming back in their usual form, however: sugary cereals, TV cartoons, etc. This time, they’re invading our beauty stores.

Monster: Lady Gaga’s First Fragrance Name?

Beginning in May, Sephora will be launching a Hello Kitty Hello Pretty makeup and perfume collection. We recently got a sneak peak of what’s to come, and we want it all! Hello Kitty not only has a gorgeous little makeup bag, but she has some great products to put inside. There is a palette of soft, feminine eyeshadows, a compact mirror, bronzer, a Retractable Kabuki Brush, and perfume. Surprisingly, the perfume was not at all what we expected. Instead of being fruity and overpowering, it was surprisingly grown up and floral.

OPI reached out to Disney fans with the recent release of their limited-edition Vintage Minnie Mouse collection. The product launch includes four nail lacquers, named Nothin’ Mousie ’bout It (Confetti light pink), I’m All Ears (Shimmery magenta), If You Moust You Moust (Pink), and The Color of Minnie (Red).

Marvel fans also got a shout out from OPI with a limited edition of nail polishes inspired by The Amazing Spider-Man movie. The series reboot, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, called for six different colors of nail lacquer, including Into the Night (Shimmery blue), Just Spotted The Lizard (Golden green), Your Web Or Mine? (pink), Call Me Gwen-ever (Coral), My Boyfriend Scales Walls (White), and Number One Nemesis (Sparkling nickel).

We are loving these little blasts from the past, especially since they are being done with taste, not tackiness. Our suggestions for the next product launch? Maybe something with Strawberry Shortcake or Rainbow Brite…

What childhood favorite do you want to see make a comeback?
