Last night Emily Blunt had the most adorable updo at the IFP’s 22nd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards. Take a look at it from the back below.
We love how this updo is a take on the faux bob trend we’ve been seeing everywhere lately, from Kerry Washington at the American Music Awards to Nicole Richie. The only difference with this style is that all of the hair is folded underneath. The faux bob allows women with longer hair to enjoy a shorter style, while this updo lets those with a bob or shoulder length cut to go even shorter.
Here are three steps to getting the look:
Step 1: To create texture, curl 1 to 2-inch sections of hair using a medium barrel curling iron.
Step 2: Gather hair with your fingers and tie an elastic at the very end of the strands.
Step 3: Roll all of the hair under the elastic and tuck toward the nape of the neck. Unlike the faux bob, make sure all of the hair is off the neck.
FYI: You can also tell that some of the shorter pieces that did not roll under were then twisted and pinned. This adds more texture to the look.
What do you think of Emily’s faux bob for short hair?
