Thick, blunt bangs were all the rage backstage at Fall 2010 Fashion Week. Models at Erin Fetherston emobided the "retro yet modern" vibe with long straight hair and shiny bangs. Stylist Odile Gilbert for Moroccanoil wanted the girls to look sweet but with a little bit of a rock 'n roll edge.

The L.A.M.B girl got a sleek, shiny bang to complement her gothic makeup and thick, bouncy curls. The effect was very 1930s-starlet-meets-vampire-bride. Chic, but with an underworld edge.

At Cynthia Steffe, Bumble and bumble lead stylist Rolando Beauchamp gave models a clip-on faux bang to help embody the late 1960's cool British/French girl inspiration. "We're doing a really thick fringe, but the texture on the hair is dirty," he said. The slept-in texture gave models a messy, sexy hairstyle that was retro without being too literal.

Not quite ready to embrace the blunt bang, but still want to get that rocker chick effect? Take a cue from models at Alexander Wang, who had hair brushed forward and over to create faux bangs that are full, textured and completely non-committal.

One of the best things about blunt bangs is that they add instant chic to any look. Models at Brioni sported a twisted updo in the back and thick bangs in the front for a sophisticated take on the trend.

Embrace your inner Morticia like models at Lanvin by pairing dark hair with a sleek bang. While this particular look is created with a wig, you can get the same effect by opting for a darker version of your usual hair color and asking your stylist for blunt, brow-grazing bangs.

If all-one-length bangs give you the heebie jeebies, check out this effortlessly cool look from backstage at Emporio Armani. Models sported brushed forward bangs that looked hip without being harsh.

A rounded bang, like those seen on models at Staerk, gives you a decidedly retro feel that we adore. Keep the rest of your hair sleek and straight, or try out a thick headband to complete the look.

We love how the rounded ends of these bobs at Shiatzy Chen are juxtaposed with a straight-across bang--it adds a sexy edge to an otherwise classic 'do. Hey, if it's good enough for Anna Wintour...

If you're going to embrace the thick bangs trend, you might as well go all out. At least that was the thought at 3.1 Philip Lim where model Tao Okamoto flaunted her signature bowl cut with tons of volume and texture. It's like bangs for your whole head!
