What’s worse than getting ready in the morning? Getting ready twice. Luckily, heading out for dinner and drinks after work doesn’t have to be a hassle. Make a few tweaks to your makeup here and there, and in under five minutes, you’re on your way! Check out our top tricks:
Stick to One Palette All Day
The fastest way to make your eye makeup a little more fun for nighttime is to blend a darker shadow over more natural colors worn throughout the day. Using one palette guarantees that the colors blend well together. “When I need to glam up quickly I turn to my Eye Couture in Eye on Neutral ($19.99, soniakashuk.com),” says Sonia Kashuk, makeup artist and founder of Sonia Kashuk Beauty. “The lighter of the 12 matte, neutral shades help me create my everyday office look while the darker shades enable me to go bolder and really turn up the drama.” For an easy fix, skip eye liner altogether and just blend the darker shadow up and out on the eyelid for a subtle cat eye effect. (It also makes your eyes appear more awake and open).
Just Add Red
If you’re limited to a 60-second update, go with red lipstick. “Classic red lipstick is a secret weapon that every woman should have in her makeup bag,” says Kashuk. “The color and tone will brighten the face and completely transform your look. That shock of color will become the focus to make a powerful statement, while still looking super feminine, sophisticated and strong.” Her recommendation: Keep the rest of your face fresh and allow your lips to take center stage.
Use Lipstick as Blush
Before throwing your lipstick back in your purse, Kashuk recommends dabbing a bit on your finger and applying to the apple of the cheeks for a quick pop of brightness.
