Each fashion week, the Chanel show sets the tone for trends to come. In particular, the nail polishes used in the shows have a way of disseminating rapidly: As soon as one has been shown on the runway, beauty fanatics the world over clamor to get their hands on the latest shade.
The legendary French fashion house walked its Spring/Summer 2016 collection down the runway in Paris earlier today (in a Chanel airport terminal, traveling in Karl style, in case you were unaware), and the hair and makeup was not to be missed. Models wore loose, low pigtails embellished with statement-making chrome accessories and soft, natural makeup—punctuated by a decidedly unwearable goggles-esque blue eyeshadow look. But it’s the nail polish, of course, that we want to talk about.
The brilliant chrome shade immediately caught our eye. It’s a bright, unmistakable silver with mirrorlike shine, and it’s guaranteed to sell out ASAP (as it’s limited edition). It was the perfect complement to both the monochromatic and boldly colored looks, and Karl Lagerfeld clearly made an effort to match the shade with the silver accessories that also debuted in the Chanel Airlines–themed show.
As for the ID on the nail polish, it’s Chanel’s Le Vernis Nail Color in Intemporel ($27) – get it while you can.
