Olivia Wilde’s ‘Modern Barbarella’ Hairstyle

At last night’s Nylon Magazine August Cover Party in L.A., Olivia Wilde paired straight, glossy bangs with long and loose waves for a simple yet completely glamorous look. We. Are. Obsessed!

Celebrity hairstylist David Babaii, the talent behind this gorgeous ‘do, was inspired by Jane Fonda’s sexy hair in the 1968 film Barbarella. Babaii wanted Wilde’s red carpet look to accentuate her amazing features without upstaging her natural, classic beauty. Both wistful and lustrous, this is bound to be a trendsetting style.

For silky hair in the middle of summer, Babaii applied Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment to all of Wilde’s hair. Since it’s an oil product, the hair shaft absorbs it instantly for natural luster and shine. After rough-drying her hair with a diffuser for extra body, Babaii used a 2 1/2 inch curling iron to create the waves. To finish off the modern-day Barbarella, he dried the bangs straight and used a large comb to feather out the hair for a carefree-finish.
