We love a good makeover and certainly understand the itch to change things up, but not all makeovers are created equal, and some are downright awful. Here are some of our least favorite celeb blonde makeovers from over the years.

Anne Hathaway
Anne's drastic switch to blonde at the Met Gala may have been one of the biggest (and worst) makeovers of 2013.

Yet, we were happy to hear she returned to brunette in time for the 2013 Oscars. The blonde didn’t bring out her gorgeous brown eyes like her natural color does.

Minka Kelly
Minka recently experimented with blonde hair. Luckily, her dark roots grew in quickly to create a subtle ombré.

Her dark natural hue accents her chocolate brown eyes so much better.

Kat Graham
Always daring with her style, the actress went with a platinum blonde after filming for "The Vampire Diaries" ended this spring.

We prefer her as a brunette where the shade is a bit darker than her skin tone.

Jessica Biel
Back in 2008, Jessica went light blonde, making her almost unrecognizable.

Her signature ombré is the lightest she should go.

Zooey Deschanel
Zooey’s big break was in Will Ferrell’s "Elf" as a blonde in 2003. That may have been the last makeover the actress has had.

But no complaints here. Her long brunette hair and signature bangs suit her perfectly.

Katharine McPhee
Not only did Katharine don a blonde wig in "Smash," but the actress also sported a short blonde ‘do in 2009.

She quickly returned to a caramel-highlighted brown that is a much better match to her skin tone.

Victoria Beckham
Though this blonde pixie is one of Victoria's most memorable hairstyles, it isn't one of our favorites.

Now Victoria goes back and forth between a brunette bob (our favorite!) and long layers.

Winona Ryder
Winona went blonde in 1990 for "Edward Scissorhands." While the look was perfect for the movie, it didn't really suit her features.

Dark hair with subtle highlights is what makes her features really stand out.

Angelina Jolie
The actress went blonde for "Life or Something Like it" back in 2001.

Hopefully, Angelina doesn’t try the color in her personal life. (Ok, maybe the voluminous hairstyle didn’t help either).

Jennifer Love Hewitt
When the actress went blonde in 2001, we were really hoping it was for the last time. Unfortunately, she recently went back to the light-haired look.

We hope she comes to her senses soon and returns to her naturally dark color.
