Best Supporting Actress nominee (for her role in The Fighter) Amy Adams paired a gorgeous, cobalt blue Marchesa gown with a faux bob hairstyle at the Golden Globes. Her tousled updo kept the focus on the laser-cut detailing of the dress.

At the Screen Actors Guild awards, Amy Adams went for a more modern, architectural approach with a sleek white Herve Leroux dress. While it was a welcome to change to see the actress, who usually veers towards more traditional styles, try something new, the halter neckline of this dress and tight ponytail are not Adams' most flattering look.

Natalie Portman, who is considered a top contender to take home the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Black Swan, has always been a fashion favorite on the red carpet. This award season, however, the actress faced the additional challenge of dressing her baby bump. This pink satin Viktor & Rolf gown with a red rose accent at the Golden Globes wrinkled too easily and was styled poorly.

When Natalie Portman arrived at the SAG Awards in this white Azzaro gown, she definitely earned our "Most Improved" vote. The form-fitting dress hugged her pregnancy curves, and her sophisticated updo was much more appropriate for the composed, elegant actress.

C'mon, Nicole Kidman, you're a Best Actress nominee! This Prada gown is not only boring and way too bridal, the Rabbit Hole star styled it with a random turquoise brooch and a boring hairstyle.

At the SAGs, Nicole Kidman realized her Golden Globe fashion faux pas (a sleep-inducing look) and tried to step it up in this navy Nina Ricci gown. While we applaud the sexy open back covered with lace, the bizarre floral necklace completely interferes with the dress' neckline.

With her gamine crop hairstyle and tiny frame, Michelle Williams can certainly pull off heavier, more ornate styles like the Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquire dress she wore to the Critics' Choice Awards. The scallopped, uneven hem keeps the gown from overwhelming the Blue Valentine Best Actress nominee.

In Gone With the Wind, Scarlett O'Hara famously made a dress out of her curtains. At the SAG Awards, Michelle Williams got a dress from Valentino made out of your tween sister's bedspread. Her fashion risks are certainly appreciated, but this ill-fitting, burlap-colored dress is just off. And stop slouching, girl!

Jennifer Lawrence, who is nominated for Best Actress for her role in Winter's Bone, is only 20, yet she has already established herself as a red carpet fashion force. This Louis Vuitton gown stood out on the Golden Globe red carpet, and the actress wisely kept her hair up and away from her face and ornate dress.

Want to make your presence known on the red carpet? Wear a shocking pink gown like this Oscar de la Renta number that Jennifer Lawrence wore to the SAGs. Our only complaints? Her hairstyle was a bit severe for her young age, and the black velvet belt looks out of place.

Helena Bonham Carter is nominated for her prim role in The King's Speech, but the actress is anything but understated on the red carpet. Take a gander at this Golden Globes outfit--yes, those are two different floral prints on her dress and two different colored shoes. And what hairstyle does one combine with this combination? Why a curly pompadour-mullet, of course.

Compared to her Golden Globes outfit, Helena Bonham Carter's Marc Jacobs dress that she wore to the Screen Actors Guild Awards was downright boring. Black and white with just a tiny bit of floral flair? Come on, HBC, we expect more drama from you. Here's hoping her Oscar dress rivals Bjork's infamous swan costume in utter kookiness.

Hailee Steinfeld is just fourteen years old and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her first movie role in True Grit. But when she shows up to every single red carpet looking this sophisticated, we find it hard to be jealous and instead spend our time coveting her gorgeous long hair.

Hailee Steinfeld totally switched up her style when she hit the SAG red carpet in this vibrantly colored, striped Prada gown--bright colors were the trend of the night. By keeping her accessories and hair simple, Steinfeld looked age-appropriate, yet high fashion, in the fun mermaid-style dress.

Melissa Leo is considered a lock for the Best Supporting Actress statue for her performance in The Fighter. At the Golden Globes, she looked stunning (can you believe she's 50?) in a Marc Bouwer gown and subtle silver eye makeup. She also scooped up the award for Best Supporting Actress that night.

At the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Melissa Leo, who once again picked up an award, was a silvery vision in a Randi Rahm gown. Her curly updo is the perfect complement to a metallic, attention-grabbing dress.

We're going to give Annette Bening the benefit of the doubt and posit that maybe she forgot to get a dress and schedule a hair appointment for the Golden Globes. She picked up the award for Best Actress for her role in The Kids Are All Right that night, but her pose here says "I totally forgot I had plans tonight until Warren [Beatty] reminded me about this."

Now this is more like it, Annette Bening. Hair beautifully styled, makeup done and a gorgeous, bejeweled Tony Ward Couture gown. Now why did you wear this to the SAG Awards, which were relegated to basic cable, and not the more mainstream Golden Globes?

Australian actress Jacki Weaver is nominated for Best Supporting Actress her role in Animal Kingdom. At the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, Weaver went a bit '80s with her outfit in a gold lam bolero and full taffeta skirt.

Jacki Weaver went a bit more eccentric with her style at the Golden Globes, where she wore a black shift dress with a printed chiffon overlay. Her blonde hairstyle and makeup; however, were flawless.
