Alber Elbaz has invigorated Lanvin with his interpretation of the line, which has existed since 1909 -- not too shabby.

 

Chloé can be seen on many-a socialite and celebrity, many thanks to Clare Waight Keller who has taken over the vision of the line, which was originated back in 1952.

Bastille Day is Saturday, July 14, and the French holiday always makes us think of all of our favorite French design labels. Many, as it happens, have seen some pretty big recent transitions of late (ahem, Dior) and some are undergoing their fair share of controversy, but overall we’re excited to see these lines entering a new phase.

Parisian fashion continues to remain a cornerstone when it comes to style, inspiration and innovation, so it’s only fair to tip our hats to the city’s most iconic fashion houses — Chanel, Dior, et al — many of which now boast some killer new talent at the helm. These labels have weathered tragedy, transition, and sometimes tumultuous finances — all in the service of style.
