Sports Illustrated is making history by choosing three different women for individual covers of its annual swimsuit issue—Ashley Graham, Ronda Rousey, and Hailey Clawson—and also by steering toward more body-positive beauty ideals.

“Truly speechless!!! This cover is for every woman who felt like she wasn’t beautiful enough because of her size. You can do and achieve anything you put your mind to,” Graham wrote on Instagram, along with a snap of the cover.

“She’s a champion for all women,” said SI‘s Assistant Managing Editor MJ Day. “There’s no denying that Ashley Graham brings something different to the table. It’s exciting to meet someone who can totally handle this moment, take it, and amplify it, all because of who she is and how she celebrates herself.”

Apart from appearing in various campaigns and on the pages of magazines, Graham’s a dedicated activist when it comes to issues around body images. She’s a founding member of ALDA, a collaborative of models whose goal is to empower women and change the perception of beauty. She also juggles her career with public speaking gigs at high schools, talking with teens about body image.
