There are some fashion bloggers who have the luxury of experimenting with a variety of looks and wearing pretty much whatever they want. Then there are style stars like Alicia Lund of Cheetah is the New Black who make it work, despite being sartorially limited due to a feisty climate and locale.

Lund, who is based in the Bay Area, faces a double-whammy of a challenge: dealing with the fickle NorCal weather and the steep San Francisco hills that dictate her shoe game. But this expert layerer—armed with essentials like flat boots, an everyday hat, and Juicy Couture’s Viva la Juicy Rosé—shows us how she effortlessly pulls it together.

In the slideshow above, we tag along with Lund on a typical Sunday as she shows us her favorite SF haunts, from her go-to eateries to the best boutiques for incredible scores. Consider this an insider’s style guide to navigating the Golden Gate City.

"Before I leave the house for the day, I always check the forecast because San Francisco weather can be temperamental. I throw an extra layer in my car, grab a hat, and of course, spritz on my latest go-to fragrance."

"Citrus fragrances are my signature scent for spring and summer, and this effervescent concoction also has whispers of jasmine and amber. My need for #RoseEveryday definitely calls for Juicy Couture's Viva la Juicy Rosé."

"A very typical SF look for me is skinny jeans, flat walking boots, doubled layers—a cozy knit and warm jacket—and almost always a hat. Today I'm wearing an R13 T-shirt, Citizens of Humanity jeans, a Jennifer Fisher necklace, Isabel Marant boots, a Tome scarf, and a fedora scored at a local men's store."

"First stop is Temple Coffee in Sacramento, where I'm picking up my girlfriend Stephanie and grabbing caffeine before we hit the road for the ultimate Sunday funday. We're playing hooky from our guys because we have two main important agendas: spring shopping and indulgently scrumptious meals."

"Whenever Stephanie and I are together, we're always planning our next meal. Zazie in Cole Valley is usually a long wait but we lucked out and got right in, snagging a seat in their adorable—heated!—garden patio. Poached eggs for Steph, veggie scramble for me, and two pots of English tea to fuel us before running around the city."

"After filling up at Zazie, we made our way over to Wasteland in the Haight, which is just a few blocks away. Wasteland can be hit-or-miss but we were both in the thrifting mood and on the hunt for vintage T-shirts to add to our spring wardrobes. It's always worth stopping in if you're in the area."

"Afterwards, Steph talked me into a scoop at The Ice Cream Bar in Cole Valley, which she claims has the best ice cream in the city. I'm still undecided on this bold claim as I have many favorites, but I'm never one to pass up on ice cream—it's my favorite dessert!

I'll say that The Ice Cream Bar has the most charming, authentic 1930s-era soda fountain around. After testing practically all of the flavors, I landed on Butterscotch and Steph got Banana Pudding. This spot gets bonus points for the best cones I've had. It's definitely worth the splurge."

"Our walk back to the car—and working off that ice cream. Having to climb these SF hills make me feel better about creamy dairy indulgences!"

"We hopped back in the car and made our way over to Noe Valley. I love this charming neighborhood, but don't get here often, so I was excited to finally stop into The Podolls.

The husband-and-wife owners have a beautiful edit of classic and easy California pieces and carry a number of my favorite brands including AMO denim, Freda Salvador boots, and Valia Gabriel sandals. Simple Greek-made leather sandals can be hard to find so I was happy they had my size. Spring sandal success!"

"Our last stop of the day is Fillmore Street. Shopping along Fillmore includes three musts for me: Freda Salvador for shoe ogling, Curve for my Isabel Marant fix—and in my opinion, the coolest edited boutique in all of SF—and Elizabeth Charles, another boutique fave for go-to spring dresses. And of course, a trip to Fillmore Street isn't complete without a stop into the cafe Jane. Afternoon hummus and avocado toast are a perfect way to finish off our day of shopping."
