While I’ll Have Another was most likely your winning mantra yesterday while out celebrating Cinco de Mayo, it was also the name of the horse that landed in first place during the yearly race in Louisville, Kentucky. And yes, the mint juleps flowed just as heavily as the margaritas, but when it comes to hats, no sombrero could compete with the over-the-top fashions seen far and wide.

One of the few places (outside of a royal wedding, of course) where gawkers can take in the amazing and over-the-top headgear of horse racing fans and the ladies who love to lunch Southern style, this year was no exception. Grand hats ranged from full-on fascinators to homemade gear that required special air clearance due to their height-defying feats of fashion ingenuity.
