Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably experienced some of the hype surrounding 50 Shades of Grey, the best-selling first book in a trilogy by E. L. James, which has gained a lot of controversy due to the plot line: a steamy affair between a college student and a successful billionaire (hello beach read).

While finding 50 shades of gray might seem a daunting task for a season dominated by color, the palette is surprisingly tantalizing: Varying from dark and bold to light and soft, it’s easy to find a shade that works for every skin tone, body type, and even hair color.

Lastly, a word to the wise: if you plan on diving into the trilogy itself, make sure you carve out some time and notify your loved ones — you’ll definitely be going underground while reading it!
